Letter

You left the old neighborhood
and promised you'd reach out by letter,
but the letter just won't arrive,
as if you want to forget me.

I meet the postman and ask,
"Any word from her, pal?",
and he just shrugs:
"Your roses have withered."

I wait for just one letter,
one small piece of paper,
but if I received it,
my heart would finally have its peace.
